Forrest Lane commanded Black Watch for two years (1994 - 1996). Chris competed with Black Watch at nationals in 1994 for the first time before he assumed his commanding position the following year. It was also the year when Chris measured Black Watch against national-level competitive teams. In 1995, Black Watch brought home the National Runner-Up Title, and worked extremely hard to return the following year and win the National Championship for the first time. No one expected the Black Watch to win that year, but what people did not discern is Chris Lane was the true "perfector of perfection". During Forrest’s tenure as commander, The Black Watch had 19 wins and 1 loss. The only loss came at Nationals in 1995. Other than that, Black Watch was completely undefeated. It was a super run, and many district schools, parents, and cadets got the delight from every minute of it. Forrest was a cadet who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by every member of the legendary Black Watch Drill team.  Upon his graduation from Churchill, Forrest went on to win a four year scholarship and became the Corps Commander at Texas A&M. The following year, he was elected as the Texas A&M Student Body President. He is now a junior executive with a large energy company in San Francisco, CA. Forrest Lane will remain noted for feats of courage, nobility of conception, leadership, and amity. He is an idol who is talented, liberal, stirring, and enthusing. An idol who has earned a permanent place in the memory of The Black Watch Drill Team.
