| My name is Herbie Veyran and I had the honor of being a member of the Black Watch Drill Team from 1998-2000. I am currently a junior at Texas A&M and a member ofthe Corps of Cadets, Company K-1. My two year experience on the team was one that I will never forget. The comraderie our team had was awesome. To me that is what Black Watch is all about, a brotherhood. A lot of great people have been on Black Watch and the guys I was on the team with are some of my closest friends. Being on Black Watch taught me alot about life's challenges and what it takes to be the best in anything I do. Major Mikesell instilled awesome discipline and character in each one of its members and for that I am greatful. Without Black Watch I would not be the person I am today and I am positive most former members of the team can say the same. I will never forget my experiences on Bl ack Watch and I wish the new team the best of luck at nationals. Black Watch Forever! |

| What can I say about the team and people that became my life for three years except that they were the best three years of my life.To the returning members of black watch all i ask is that they remember their obligation to be great and that if they want it bad enough NOTHING can stop them. |

Black Watch is more than National Champions. From my time on the team I learned that Black Watch, although to some people was just a bunch of shaved headed guys, we were brothers that came from many different walks of life. We came together through the grace of God and formed bonds that will never be broken. We still keep in touch with eachother even though we are spread all across the country and world. The bond we formed can never be broken. My brothers on Black Watch will never be replaced and I thank all of them for what they are doing now and are planning on doing in their lives, whether it be lead units into combat and give thier lives for there countries on the battle field or as firemen willing to give their life for one person they have never met in their life. Not even death can separate the bonds that I share with those guys. Black Watch is an att itude than only an elite few can have. We are hard yet fair and always will be. Black Watch is an attitude. The attitude makes us give more than we are able to in everything we do. Black Watch is more than national champions. Win or lose, the members of this team will always be pefect gentlemen and that is what really measures a man, not the accomplishments they can put on paper, but the accomplishments that they have inside. |
